As i m experimenting with different papers i m finding it isn t so much. Yes it is bit more of an investment than traditional letterpress printing on white paper but the finished product is oh so dreamy. Also if you buy black paper and print on it and foil does that work or does the foil adhere to the black paper. Requested video i tried foiling on black card stock using my inexpensive laminating machine and i got some good result.

Printing isn t as easy when you print on black card stock. The coated paper that comes with the minc kit works. Let the printing dry completely before stacking anything on top of the foil paper which may take up to 30 minutes. December 31 2016 at 3 41 am.

Thanks for the wonderful tutoril. I haven t yet had the opportunity to design white engraving or foil on black paper so i don t have any photos to share. It works great with thick papers and heavy textures and we love to give it a bump with an embossing plate too to create a raised printing effect. Our premium black cards are a premium product due to the high quality and caliber of card that is used as well as the higher production costs from foiling embossing rather than printing.

Meaning i want to print text onto black cardstock paper and have the gold foil laminated over it. I have a small laser printe. Foil and engraving are wonderful options when trying to print white on black for invitations. Foil screen print and emboss are the only printing processes available on our premium black stocks.

Keep in mind white foil printing uses a thick copper plate and presses into the paper so artwork will naturally have a debossed letterpress print effect. Printing black business cards takes special consideration as most pantone inks are transparent and disappear into the black paper surface. If so would the text be visible enough to place the foil over it. Digital printing can work on black paper as well if you re going for a super covert black on black look.
